The Wonder Of Light Exhibition, Sofia, Bulgaria

A while back in my blog, I mentioned that I was invited to exhibit my work in Sofia, Bulgaria as part of their “Month Of Photography” festival. Sadly, given the travel costs involved and also considering the amount of business travel I have been doing this year, I didn’t get to attend the exhibition myself :( But I am thankful for the sneak peek images of the exhibition which were recently sent to me.

The decisions on the printing and display were entirely the responsibility of the exhibition team and I was really pleased by the results. The shots were printed A2 (24 inches on the longest side), borderless and mounted on a card. They also used standing easels to hold the prints rather than wall mounting them in frames, which is a unique way of displaying them.

30 images were exhibited over all, featuring 12 models – a slightly different body of work than that exhibited as part of my Solo Exhibit held earlier this year in the Dublin Photographic Centre. I have to say a big thank you to Emanuil Treyman and his team for the invitation to exhibit, for handling the logistics (and costs) of having the work printed and mounted and for sending on these photos. It’s very much appreciated :)

If anything, these two exhibitions have given me a taste for having my work exhibited. There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing your work printed and mounted and out on display, being viewed by a wider audience than would normally see it. Something tells me, there’ll be another exhibition in the future.

  1. :) despite living with a nude photographer . . . that is someone who photographs nudes – not someone who photographs in the nude LOL – I gravitate more to macro flowers personally BUT I do love your work . . .

  2. These look great Ciaran

  3. Congratulations Ciaran. It looks like they did an excellent job and the easels – great idea.
