Hannah… this weeks victim :)
Sunday, March 8th, 2009, 17:38Meet Hannah Ashlea.. this weeks victim
Actually, “victim” is probably an apt term, considering how nervous she was (apparently) about coming to over shoot with me. In a lot of ways, this shoot was a first for Hannah, first time flying alone; first time in Ireland and first time working with a big scary photographer
I find it quite amusing that some people are intimidated or nervous about shooting with me and by her own admission, Hannah was too. But following an hour of chain smoking at her local airport before the flight, she arrived in Dublin brimming with confidence. For a model so new to the scene, she was a real professional; totally comfortable through out the shoot, willing and able to take direction and already very aware of what works for her in terms of looks and poses. Couple that with a real enthusiasm to get great images as well as a very unique look – well it was a recipe for a great shoot. I’m not sure if she’s quite aware of how unique a model she is? Her boyish figure and GREAT face really makes her stand out from the crowd.
As well as shooting images for my panel, I decided to do something with a little more edge and styling. Using a reflective umbrella, placed really close to Hannah and elevated above her, I tried to create some butterfly/beauty lighting. She was probably stood 4~6 foot away from the background so it photographed grey and we clicked away

After the shoot it was Italian and beer/wine all round followed by us chatting into the evening until eventually the early rise, the travel and the long arduous shoot took it’s toll and she called it a night. Thanks Hannah
